A Tour Down Under experience with Phil Anderson.
This tour suite is designed to provide you with the best opportunities to see the excitement of the cycling Pro Tour visiting Australian shores, under the guidance of Australia’s original champion, Phil Anderson.
PAC is mindful of the various needs of those wishing to attend the TdU, from families to corporate groups. For this reason we have designed this package with what we consider to be the most vital elements: fantastic organised rides, spectating and two private dinners with Phil, access to the magnificent VIP hospitality on Wilunga Hill, and a table with Phil at the TdU Legends Night Dinner.
As everyone has different requirements, we have not included the cost of providing accommodation in the basic package price, leaving this to be flexible in case hotel-style rooming does not perfectly suit your needs. PAC is always at your disposal to book rooms at the same centrally-located hotel that Phil and his staff will be staying in.
Stage 3: Norwood-Paracombe,143.2km
Today's Ride: 130km of rolling Adelaide hills on the Stage 3 course.
Ride with Phil and your colleagues on the route of today’s stage before the heat of the day takes hold at the TdU.
Rather than expose ourselves to the SA summer heat that will be melting the freshly-arrived-from-winter Euro Pros on the road, we are planning an early start, with a ride through the hills, a coffee and catch-up before returning to Adelaide where we will reconvene to watch the final stages of the race together on live TV.
The afternoon’s activities will continue through to our intimate welcome dinner with Phil and some fine Adelaide cuisine.
Stage 4: Glenelg-Mt. Barker, 144.5km.
Today's Ride: 100km
Events SA present a constitutional event today, the BUPA challenge. For those interested in particpating the choice is yours with entry available independently. The ride with Phil today will start a little later and take a less crowded route to the south east from Adelaide onto the course at Meadows, which is close to the end of the stage. We will stick around for the excitement of Stage 4 as it passes and will then return by bike to our base in the city.
Tonight we will head into the city for another dinner together and to take the opportunity to experience the TdU Street Festival held in conjunction with Events SA.
Stage 5: McLaren Vale-Wilunga Hill, 151.5km.
Today's Ride: 100km
Once again we’ll be taking our own ride to include elements of the day’s stage.
This morning we will have a classic Adelaide ride that will take us into the Adelaide hills via Norton Summit and returning down Greenhill road. We have a 90 minute commute in our coach to the site of today’s TdU showdown at the summit of Willunga Hill, where we can sit back and relax together in style as the final TdU battle of 2015 unfolds on the slope.
Today’s stage has become infamous at the TdU as the split second decider of the GC contest. Willunga hill is the place to be and the experience will be topped for us with the inclusion of admittance to the VIP hospitality area provided by the event organisers. This must be one of the most opulent ways to approach sports spectating!
The day’s excitement will continue well into the evening as we head together to join Phil’s table at the TdU Legends Night Dinner.
Stage 6: Alelaide Street Circuit.
Today's Ride: Traditional Morning Ride
This morning we will have a classic Adelaide ride that will take us out to Glenelg, Port Adelaide and Outer Harbour before we head back into town for the traditional city circuit finish in the heart of Adelaide.
The final stage of the TdU finishes in typical Australian style, bringing a criterium to the World Tour. It’s pretty rare to see this class of riders take on a tight and demanding circuit like this en masse, and it will provide a most exciting spectacle.
Hospitality is available on the finish line and is highly recommended by PAC as an addition to this package. Phil will be taking up this option and invites all guests to consider the same via the Events SA website.
